Another New Job!

On January 5th, I began the process to become a sub at a local Christian school. Then I was offered the job at the Vet's office. Well, it has been one month at the Vet and this past Thursday I received and unexpected phone call. The call was from Grace Christian School. I was offered a Kindergarten teaching position.

Today was my first day there. I will be getting to know the school, students, etc. this whole week and begin teaching next week! I'm so excited though to finally be doing what I want and love to do!

Job Update

So, I have been looking for a job for the past 7 months. I have been supposedly over-qualified for every job I have applied! This I cannot believe! Well, I had an interview about a 1 1/2 weeks ago, for a job at the Ellijay Animal Hospital. Now, I have no previous experience with animal hospitals. Well, I received a call last night around 6:00pm. Corey and I were in the car on our way to the store, to pick up a few things to take to my parent's home for dinner. In any event, I kept motioning to Corey to go to Walmart and he kept saying no! We do not like to go to Walmart for a quick trip. However, when I got off the phone with the animal hospital, I told Corey that we needed to go to Walmart because I had to buy my 1st pair of scrubs! That's right! I got the job!!! And today was my first day!!! It was fun to learn so many new things!

I am the new Veterinarian Technician at Ellijay Animal Hospital! I'm so excited! A new job. A new field of study. Praise God for answered prayers in providing work for our family!

Celebration #1 - We went to Texas Roadhouse with Corey's Mom, Dad, Devin (brother), Hilary (Devin's girlfriend). We have a couple pictures of that and then the wait staff singing to Corey.

Celebration #2 - We went to Red Lobster (Corey's dinner of choice). Amy's Mom and Dad joined us. We have a couple pictures of that and then a video of the wait staff singing!!

Here we go...CHRISTMAS TIME!!! We celebrated Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with Amy's family. On Christmas Eve we attended First Baptist Church Ellijay for the Christmas Eve Service. Here is a picture of our first snow back at the beginning of December. Zowie was barking at the snow falling outside. We also had a ton of leaves on our porch...hehe :) But the garland look nice!

On December 7th, the Student Arts Ministry Corey and I have been working with had their Christmas Party. Here is our group photo from that night.

Then on the second weekend of December Corey and I drove to Ocala, FL to have an interview with Oak-Griner Baptist Church. However, we have already heard back from the church and they are pursuing another canidate. But here is a picture we took in the car!

I know, I know, WAY OVERDUE!!!

We are soooooo Sorry...Every time we tried to update with our pictures and videos our computer kept messing up. But I believe we are good now!

First, let's go back to Thanksgiving....Corey and I had a wonderful Thanksgiving!! On Thanksgiving Day we went to my parent's home for the Cann Family Thanksgiving. Before we went to their home though, my cousin Phil and Stephanie's two middle children, Madeline and Daniel, asked my father to baptize them. So, our entire family met at First Baptist Ellijay to have a family baptism. I have a couple videos of the baptism's and a slide show of our Thanksgiving with the Cann family!

On the day after Thanksgiving (Friday) we drove down to Gainesville, GA to be with Corey's family through Saturday evening. On Friday night we had a wonderful dinner that Corey's Grandma made. On Saturday, my mother-in-law took me to get our nails and toes done. Saturday night we went to FBC Oakwood to see their light show...it was AWESOME!

A Few Weekends Ago....

A few weekends ago, we helped move Amy's sisters into their new apartment. Here is a slide with some pics from the move.

We're going to try to upload some of the videos as well. After we helped move Amy's sisters, then we dropped Corey off to go to the dirt track race with his brothers and dad! He had a blast but it was really cold.

Long Overdue Update

We know it's been forever!!!! We apologize for not updating sooner. We have misplaced our camera cord, so unfortunately we have no pictures :( Sad we know! Well, let us catch you up with our lives...

Since we moved here in June, Corey has been able to work for Amy's Uncle as part of his Maintenance Crew where we are living in Lakeside Mobile Park. Praise the Lord we've had an income. Unfortunately it is not a full-time position, his hours vary from 20-40 hours. Amy has been unable to find any jobs in the Ellijay area at this time. Unfortunately there are a ton of businesses that are not hiring due to the economy at this time.

As far as a church position for Corey, we are currently speaking with a few churches and many others have his resume. We are still praying and seeking where God will have us be.

Currently, we are attending First Baptist Church of Ellijay, GA. We have truly enjoyed worshiping there during this transition time. Amy is singing in the Adult Choir on Sunday Mornings. She is also a part of the Praise Team. The Praise Team leads in worship on a rotating basis on Sunday mornings. We both have begun to assist the Minister of Worship with the Student Arts Department. They meet on Sunday nights from 5-7pm. Corey leads them in a 20 minute devotion time, they are currently learning how to share the Gospel with people. Amy also is a part of this time and leads the Interpretive Arts for grades 7-12.

We are loving the opportunity to be close to family as well! What a blessing during this transitional time in our lives. We appreciate all the love and support we have received thus far. Feel free to drop us a line!!!

This past Thursday, Amy and her mom were at the St. Joseph's Hospital in Atlanta. Amy's Dad, Ken Cann, was sent for OutPatient Procedure to see what the blockage was in his heart.
He was told he failed his stress test due to an abnormality.
This is where we spent most of our day on Thursday:

When Amy and her mom were called to the consultation with the Doctor, we were blessed to hear the news he had to share....There was NOTHING!! NO BLOCKAGES!

God had completely healed whatever ailments had been there.

PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSINGS FLOW!!!

Corey and I have been "still" since Thursday Morning thru Sunday. We've really been praying together and seeking where God would have us be right now (even if it is a transitional location). We both feel that God is leading us back to Georgia at this time. We have a wonderful opportunity to be in our own place for a minimum of 6 months...I'll post pictures later. We will be loading up the U-Haul on Wednesday and leaving on Thursday morning. So, without further adeu (did I spell that right?? The Verdict Is....

God has closed the door for us with Green Valley Baptist Church.
Praise God for provision and protection through His Will!
And a big THANK YOU to all the prayers for God's Will to be evident!

We drove up on Saturday morning to Lebanon, VA. We arrived at the church about 12:45pm. We had to be there by 1pm for a meeting with some of the youth and their parents. Due to softball, baseball & soccer games, there wasn't a lot of youth there. However, it was a wonderful time of fellowship with about 5 families. We answered some questions that the youth and the parents had for us as well as ate some pizza!!! Enjoy some pictures from Saturday!

After our meeting with the families, we had the evening to ourselves! This was good, it gave Corey some time to polish up his sermon for Sunday morning and for us to spend some time together. Here are some pictures from the service Sunday Morning:

After the service, we all headed to the Fellowship Hall for a Soup Bean Supper. After we had ate, they had Corey and I stand in front of everyone and have a time of Question & Answer! AHHHH! Talk about intimidating! But how encouraging to hear some of the comments after it was all over! God is GREAT!!!! Well.....we will hear from the committee tomorrow night!!!! We will update immediately!!! Keep checking back with us for the final announcement of whether we're moving to Virginia or headed to live with the parents for a little while!

Today at 3:00pm, Corey Andrew Pass will be a College Graduate!!!!!!! I can't wait to post pictures!!!!

By, the way, Green Valley Baptist Church has contacted us. Corey received a phone call stating that the Personnel Committee is extending him the position contingent upon the vote of the church. Corey has received the package from the committee and we have accepted. All the formalities will be completed within the next 2 weeks.

We will be headed up to Lebanon, VA next weekend. We will be meeting with the youth group on May 31st and Corey will be preaching again on June 1st. This time he is preaching in view of a call!!! Then we will have a meet 'n greet potlock lunch to speak with church members.

The church will then vote on Wednesday, June 4th at their business meeting and we will receive a call that night! So, we'll know for sure on the evening of June 4th! Then we will rent a U-Haul on June 5th and pack it and be out of our apartment on June 6th!!

We'll keep you posted and I'll get some Graduation pictures on here!!!

Interview Update

Well....We received a call this past Wednesday from the Personnel Committee at Green Valley Baptist Church. The personnel committee has extended the offer of the Youth and Children's position to us, contingent upon the vote of the Church. We are so excited to share with you that we will return to Lebanon, VA on May 31st to meet with the youth of the church and get to know them. Then on Sunday, June 1st, Corey will be preaching again, this time in View of a Call. We will follow the service with a potlock (meet 'n greet) with the congregation.

On Wednesday, June 4th, the church will vote. Then later that night we should get a call!!! How exciting!!!

We are so in awe of God's faithfulness when we are willing to put all our trust and faith in Him!

Interview Part 2

Well, we went back to Green Valley Baptist Church this past weekend! Thank you again for all the prayers and support! It is greatly appreciated! Once again, it was a wonderful time of fellowship in Christ! We left Saturday Morning and arrived in Lebanon early afternoon. We got there a little early so we could look around at the homes in the area...just in case! :)

We were picked up by the Pastor and his wife around 5pm. They took us out for a drive and dinner at Logan's Steakhouse. What an amazing time of fellowship! We were with them until 9:30pm that night! We did not get to spend time with them on the first visit due to a death in the church, so this was a great opportunity to get to know them.

On Sunday, we sat in the Youth Sunday School Class and got to meet some of the youth. Then Amy sang during the service and Corey brought the message. He preached on Ephesians 2:11-22 about being One in Christ (In Christ Alone!). It was a well delivered message.

After the service, we were asked to have lunch with the Pastor, his wife, their daughter and granddaughter (who is in the youth). We had a great time of fellowship with them. We hopefully should hear back from the church within 1-2 weeks. We are thrilled to see where God will lead us! Stay tuned!!!!

Interview Part 1

First, I want to thank everyone for your prayers for this past weekend. It was incredible. For those of you who do not know, we had an interview for a church position this past weekend.

We left around 8am Saturday Morning and got to Lebanon, VA around 12:30pm. It was a beautiful drive there. We wanted to get there early to drive around the area and see where things were. We checked into the hotel around 3pm and we were picked up by one of the personnel committee members about 4:45pm.

We then went over to Green Valley Baptist Church where we met all the members of the personnel committee and the pastor. They then showed us around the church and then took us to dinner at Bonanza Steakhouse. We had a private room in the restaurant where we ate. After we ate we remained there in the room to have the "interview". The "interview" was a wonderful time of fellowship with other believers. God was truly evident in all that was discussed in the meeting. Our "interview" lasted until 9pm that night.

We were also asked to attend their Sunday Morning Service. We were truly blessed as we attended the service. As we walked out of the morning service it was SNOWING!!!! Can you believe it?!?! SNOW in April!!! It was beautiful!!

Well, as were leaving we were told that the committee was going to take a week before we would be contacted again. However, the church contacted us on Wednesday night and said that they felt God was leading them to have us meet with the church again. So, we will be going back to VA on April 26th -27th. Corey has been invited to preach on Sunday the 27th and I will be singing. We will also be meeting with the pastor and his wife for dinner on Saturday the 26th. We are so excited!

On the 1st, we attended Corey's work Christmas Party. His bosses Scott and Sylvia hosted a very wonderful get together. They had catered in Red, Hot, and Blue. It was very good. Here is a picture of us that we took before we went to the party.

Then on December 7th, we had Amy's work Christmas Party. It was held at Briggs Restaurant. The party was very nice. We forgot the camera that night. Shame on us!

We had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Lowe's Motor Speedway about the second weekend in October. We got to the track on a Thursday night. We had the great opportunity to stay with in my Aunt Cindy's Coach.

Our Trip Home

We went home last weekend and would like to share with you about our weekend!!! On Saturday, we had the opportunity to share with our family what God is doing in our lives. We shared that God is calling us to go into Short-term Missions. Just as the Lord has commanded in Matthew 28:19-20,

"Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all the things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen."

We will be going through the International Service Corps (ISC) Program. This program is through the International Mission Board (IMB). As of right now, we feel that God is calling us to a country called Malawi in Africa. We are reminded of Romans 10:14-15,

“How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: ‘How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace. Who bring glad tidings of good things!’”

We are so blessed to have families that were extremely receptive and supportive to what God is calling us to do. Praise God from whom all blessings flow!!

After we shared this news with our families, we then had to get ready for Corey's 10 year High School Reunion. That's right, 10 years ago Corey graduated from West Hall High School! Can you believe it? Here are some pictures of us all dressed up for the Reunion:

On Sunday, we had the honor of being at our home church, First Baptist Church of Oakwood, Georgia. This is the church where Corey and I met, got engaged and got married! Below is a picture of the sign that was on the church's marquee:

Well, Corey had the opportunity to bring the message on Sunday morning and I sang "The Power of the Cross". What a blessing it was to feel the Spirit moving that morning. We were blessed by the love and support shown to us while there.

Corey's Summer Classes

Let me catch you up on Corey's classes this summer! Each class during the Summer is only 2 weeks in length.

The 1st Summer Session, he took Church History. The big project he had to do for that class was a Timeline. It ended up being about 9 feet long!!!! Crazy! But it will be good for referencing at a later date. He passed the class with a C+!

Corey finished his 2nd Session of Summer classes this past Friday! For the 2nd Session, he took Deuteronomy. He is finishing up his final paper for the class. It is due this week. Then he will receive his final grade for that class. We'll let you know when he receives his grade for that class.
